#100

This is the 100th post on this silly blog of mine. Some might think this would be a good time to stop and reflect, but I’ll be honest. I have no interest in doing something like that. I’ve had this blog for nearly 4 years now. I originally wanted to pass 100 within the first year. I’m not satisfied with only now reaching 100. Maybe once I get to 1000 I’ll come back and do some reflection, but right now I don’t want to look back and pat myself on the back. I want to keep writing at the pace…

Shoutouts

I just wanted to write a quick post to thank the people who gave me suggestions for things to listen to and eat on my upcoming road trip. (I’m currently on the road, that came fast.) First up big thanks for Brad who brought up the idea of Audio books, something that hadn’t even crossed my mind. I didn’t end up going with anything he recommended, instead I decided to dive head first into some politics with A Higher Loyalty, former FBI director James Comey’s book. I was sold on this book pretty much as soon as I realized it…

I Feel Pretty

Aight let’s get something out of the way. Going into this movie I expected it to be bad, and that’s not an entirely fair thing to think going into any movie. I don’t think it’s a huge deal but I do think it’s important for me to take note of biases like that before talking about a movie. That being said let’s move forward. You can watch a brief version of my thoughts or read a little more in-depth down below. I Feel Pretty is a new comedy movie starring Amy Schumer, the movie follows the story of Renee Bennett,…

Bad Burgers

Aight so yesterday was the last day of classes for the semester, I’ve been doing pretty good about eating better and I decided to reward myself with a good ole fashioned burger. So I hop in the car, buckle up (I ain’t trying to die out here ya know?) and head out. I had planned to go to this place called Mooyahs to get their chili burger since I freaking love it, but alas I saw the golden arches and my brain just went, “Ya know a Big Mac sounds really good right about now.” So I end up at…

Rotten Tomatoes

I have conflicting feelings about Rotten Tomatoes. I know for a lot of people it’s a really useful tool to help them decide what movies to go see, but there is a slight problem with it. The Tomatometer. The Tomatometer is the number that pops up on sites like Fandango, and it’s the number that movies use in their marketing campaigns now. It determines if a movie is “fresh” or “rotten”.  The way that Rotten Tomatoes calculates this number is kind of deceiving though. You see in order for a movie to be considered fresh it has to have received…

April 10th Movie Roundup

This week I saw A Quiet Place, The Death of Stalin, and Blockers and I talk about them in that order. I’ve been thinking a bunch about the video format for this and it just isn’t working out the way I hoped it would. It always feels like there is one movie I really want to talk about and then I mention the other two because I said I’d talk about all of them. So what I think I’m going to do is go back to doing individual reviews for movies as I see them, but still have a brief…

Tilters

Everyone has these little things that just annoy them to no end. There really isn’t a good reason to get that upset about them, but we do. Our pet peeves just really dig into us and push our buttons. Here are some of the things that put me on tilt. Women: Nah I’m just playing, we all know its white people that actually get me on tilt. Specifically French Canadians. Scatter Arrow: This is the stupidest thing in all of Overwatch, and this is a game filled to the brim with things that are stupid. For those unaware, Scatter Arrow…
